  • Have you ever brought a jacket that didn't quite fit right, or a pair of jeans that looked nice on the rack but didn't fit you right once you got them home.
  • Maybe you purchased a nice pair of tennis shoes, but they didn't fit you right once you got them home. So what did you do? Did you keep them anyway or did you bring them back to the store?
  • How intuitive are you about yourself? Are you aware of your surroundings? Can you intuitively sense if your environment is the right fit for you?
  • What I discovered about life is; it’s possible to change without growing, but it’s impossible to grow without changing your surroundings. I came to the conclusion in 2020, the environment was no longer a good fit for me. I decided to move to higher grounds. I needed an environment that could fit my growth style.
  • My future was looking dull, routine, and confining. This is what brought me to consider changing my environment. When I visited Houston Texas in 2020, I immediately sensed that the environment was ripe for growth.

  • I ask myself questions like: What nurtures my personality? Experiences—What experiences rejuvenate my soul? Hopes—What goals and dreams inspire me? People—What type of people should I surround myself with? Potential—What experiences, events, and what type of culture will challenge my growth?

Ask Questions about Your Current Environment:

  • Are others ahead of me?
  • Am I being challenged to seek progress?
  • Is my focus in a forward position?
  • Am I seeking a better future & higher grounds?
  • Is the environment suitable for growth?
  • Am I often pushed out of my Comfort Zone?
  • Are people around me challenging me to grow?
  • Am I surrounded by people desiring change & growth?

These were the kind of questions I asked myself to determine if my environment was ripe for growth. And the answer was no. I decided that the best decision was to make a move, and seek higher ground. It was time for me to push out, and chart a new course for adventure. That's when I moved to Texas. I am so glad I did.

Have you given some thought to your environment? Can you be honest with yourself and determine if your current environment inhibits the potential to nurture your growth? What type of people are you surrounded by?

And if you come to the conclusion that it doesn't have what you need, what will you do about? Will you stay there and die mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and professionally? Are will you make your move like me, and seek and search for higher ground and a better future?
