For over fifteen years I have studied the lives of successful people, and how it relates to becoming mental tough. I became a student of success. I discovered that there are amazing similarities.

No, they are not the same color or nationalities, but people who strive to accomplish their goals in life. They exhibit similar characteristics.

Here's a powerful key statement: "The power to define your purpose in life is the power to determine or influence your destiny."

Definition of Success: " Success is the progession toward predetermined worthwhile goals, established by a balanced, spiritual, moral beliefs that provide the ability to enjoy the success process."

CHARACTERISTICS OF MENTAL TOUGHNESS

Mental Toughness is a character trait that you must develop, and a passion to acquire. You must develop these tools to assist you in conditioning your life to reflect these characteristics.

1) Mentally tough people are those who work to improve their self-image, learn how to stand up under stress, know how to turn crisis into opportunity, possess the skills to handle frustration, and work at the art of communication.

2) A Strong Sense of Direction: Mentally tough people have developed clear-cut goals that they are striving to attain. To succeed in life, one must continually strive to make progress toward predetermined worthwhile goals.

3) Enjoy Your Work: Mentally tough people enjoy their career/vocation. Work should never become an uncontrollable obsession, but should be enjoyable and rewarding. There is a magnificent motivational passion that accompanies enjoying your work.

4) Build Solid Networks: Mentally tough people have learned the valueable resource of people, people, and people. They understand the team concept and possess a tremendous respect and appreciation for their networks. This by far is the most tedious task of the success-minded individual. There is a group of people working behind the scenes who help support or cause the success of mentally tough people.
